The Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP) was founded on
September 12,1951 and likewise was reincorporated as an Association for another
50 years last August 2001.
Founded by executives from 10 of the leading hotels and restaurants in Manila and
nearby areas, its main goal was to take the lead role as the single voice
organization representing the Philippine private business sector in the hotel &
restaurant industry. Likewise, it aims to upgrade the caliber of the local hospitality
industry by improving management skills, personnel services & overall standards
while keeping abreast of the global trends.
As the national association of hotels & restaurants, HRAP maintains formal as well
as informal affiliations with regional and ASEAN bodies. Through the years, the
Association has addressed several number of concerns some of which are thorny
issues that were affecting the members of the Industry such as government
requirements, environmental issues and other thru linkages with government
